In the wake of European Sustainable Development Week, here's some excellent news for the development of soft mobility in France! 🚲
The Centrale d'Achat du Transport Public (CATP), a division ofAgir Transport, has chosen Lokki as one of four titular management software packages to help local authorities and public mobility buyers develop bicycle rental.
The French government had invested 2 billion euros to establish a genuine cycling culture in France, by developing cycling infrastructure and speeding up training in the use of bicycles.
The government had also amended the Loi d'orientation des mobilités (LOM) of December 24, 2019, to enable local authorities to further strengthen their alternative mobility offerings.
Despite efforts to promote soft mobility in recent years, much remains to be done. According to the French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the car still accounts for 60% of home-to-work journeys over distances of less than 5 kilometers. The development of intermodality therefore represents an ideal alternative for reducing the carbon footprint of local travel.
By gradually expanding its range of services dedicated to bicycles and soft mobility, CATP is now able to meet the needs of local authorities for all their projects, including the management of rental services.
Against this backdrop, the CATP has chosen to reference 4 software packages for managing bicycle rental services. The idea is to help local authorities set up bicycle rental services by offering them a list of reference software, whose quality criteria have been validated by the CATP. Digitizing the rental business means it can be managed simply, smoothly and intuitively.
For Lokki, being referenced by a public body like the CATP is an opportunity to carry out the mission it has set itself: to develop sustainable tourism and the economy of use in France, for leisure activities that are accessible to all and respectful of the environment.
Lokki offers a collaborative and intuitive rental platform on which local authorities can manage their entire bike rental service. By choosing Lokki, local authorities can offer their residents a convenient, reliable bike rental service tailored to their needs.
In this way, Lokki contributes to the development of soft mobility and the promotion of a more ecological and sustainable mode of transport.

An association under the law of 1901, the Centrale d'Achat du Transport Public (CATP) was created in 2011 by local elected officials and technicians from local authorities to optimize public transport purchasing.
Thanks to this tool, local authorities can now control purchasing costs while benefiting from shared legal and technical expertise.
